Zoe Bäckstedt was the main favourite to take the victory in the women's under-23 race and she has succeeded. The Briton is the new Cyclocross European Champion in the discipline.
The field was strong but Bäckstedt put on a performance as impressive as one could expect. The 19-year old climbs to the top step of the podium whilst Marie Schreiber and Kristyna Zemanová took second and third on the day with meaningful gaps between them.
