Wout van Aert on his victory in Zonhoven - "It was very tough. But with all the crowd in the famous Kuil, it was super nice"

Wout van Aert has added another victory to his record by winning the Zonhoven World Cup, continuing his winning streak in the process. This is his eighth victory of the season.

To spectators, it may have looked like an easy victory for him, but the Jumbo Visma rider says otherwise. "It may have seemed that way, but it was definitely a tough hike," Van Aert said in the post-race interview.

He further adds, "It was very tough. But with all the crowd in the famous Kuil, it was super nice. We could enjoy it, even more, today, because we dove into the Kuil an extra time per lap. I myself also liked the long-running phase uphill, but this is definitely more spectacular."

Wout van Aert's victory at the Zonhoven World Cup is his eighth win of the season and his third consecutive victory this week, boosting his confidence as he prepares for the World Championship.
