33-year-old Sanne Cant has taken her first victory of the winter at Exact Cross Loenhout, putting down a very impressive performance to win solo.
On an incredibly muddy course, the legendary Sanne Cant was rolling back the years, as the Belgian led alongside Kristyna Zemanová at the halfway stage, with Manon Bakker in hot pursuit behind.
Due to the conditions 'only' four laps were on the cards for the women, and on lap 3, Cant made her move, riding clear of Zemanova. Although Cant has 123 professional wins to her name, just two have come in the last two years, both at the Belgian National Championships. Starting the final lap solo however, Cant safely manoeuvred her way around to return to the winners' circle.
