Wout van Aert had geared up to make his debut this cyclocross season at the Zilvermeercross Mol but this plan was cancelled last minute due to an illness he began experiencing the day before. Now, the Belgian has seemingly recovered from it and is back to training ahead of his now expected debut at the Exact Cross Loenhout.
On Christmas eve he put out a 131-kilometer ride together with former pro Jan Bakelants and this morning already on Christmas day he went on a 47-minute long run at a high pace. Both promising signs that he is back to good health but also fit enough to have some strong running after the knee injury that wrecked his fall and delayed his training plans.
