Young Lorenzo Germani extends with Groupama - FDJ through 2027

Lorenzo Germani will continue to race in the Groupama - FDJ outfit in the coming years. The 22-year-old Italian has extended his expiring contract for another three seasons, until the end of 2027.

Germani is currently in his second season with Groupama - FDJ, after promoting from the training team in the winter of 2022 along with the likes of Romain Grégoire, Lenny Martinez or Laurence Pithie.

While Germani hasn't got the shiny palmares of his peers, the team values the Italian's loyalty. After all, Germani knew what his role in the French World Tour team would be, describing himself as someone "ready to spend himself for his leaders" and that he "doesn't expect to become the leader straight away" upon joining the team back in 2023.

The young rider rode his first big tour last year at the Vuelta a España and is currently completing his Giro d'Italia debut. On the rest day of the Giro d'Italia, Groupama - FDJ announced that Germani has re-signed.
