Wout van Aert looked back at
Tour de France and happy family events of the past week in recent Instagram post.
Jumbo-Visma and
Jonas Vingegaard also came to a surprise visit in his home on Herentals on Monday.
"And that's two," he begins his message. "The past week has been a crazy rollercoaster of emotions. Being at home in good health with my wife and two sons," said the Jumbo-Visma rider, who welcomed son Jerome last week.
"I saw my friends finish the job," he referred to teammate Jonas Vingegaard's Tour victory. Van Aert was the only Jumbo-Visma ride who did not finish the Tour, but the remaining riders made sure that his number 6 was there everywhere. "That was a big highlight," says Van Aert.
The Belgian also completed training rides after the birth of his second son. He focuses on the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow, which will be held on Sunday 6 August. However, there was also some time on Monday to welcome Tour winner Vingegaard in Herentals. The Dane gifted his Belgian teammate with a mini yellow jersey for little Jerome.
