Primoz Roglic is a multiple-time Grand Tour winner. The
Tour de France has so far eluded him however and after the emergence of
Jonas Vingegaard at
Jumbo-Visma in recent years it's unlikely he'll lead the team in the battle for the Maillot Jaune again. Ex-pro Chris Horner feels the time is right for Roglic to split from Jumbo-Visma.
"Primoz, if you're listening: you have to leave Jumbo-Visma," the American former Vuelta a Espana winner pleads on his own personal YouTube channel. Horner also even has a potential destination in mind for the Slovenian. "Now that Jonas Vingegaard has won the Tour de France again, you better say goodbye to the team. Find something that will make you leave Jumbo-Visma, someone to buy out your contract and move to INEOS Grenadiers. There are men there who can fully support you."
The possibility of Roglic going to INEOS will leave a mouthwatering proposition for the 2024 Tour de France in Horner's opinion. “If he does, we will have a Tour de France next year with Roglic at INEOS, Tadej Pogacar at UAE-Team Emirates, Vingegaard at Jumbo-Visma and Remco Evenepoel at Soudal Quick-Step," he explains. "Man, that would be great. Primoz has to leave Jumbo-Visma, and quickly."
"If he still wants a chance to win the Tour, he has to leave Jumbo-Visma," Horner repeats. "Find someway to get out of your contract and try to freshen up the course next year with four top favourites!"
