The Jumbo-Visma's auction of their bikes concluded on 19th December. The auction was done by the team to raise funds for the development of young talents.
The highest bid was over 30,000 euros for Wout van Aert's Tour de France bike with a green front fork. However, the story doesn't end here. With a bidding amount of over 22,500 euros, the second highest bid was also on van Aert's Tour bike.
As part of Jumbo-Visma's 10-day auction, 18 bikes that have played a crucial role in the team's success were sold. The exact amount of van Aert’s Cervélo S5 bid was 31,001 euros. It was the bike he used to ride in his green jersey this year.
Jumbo Visma also did the same auction last year, and van Aert’s bike brought 16,250 euros that time. Surprisingly Jonas Vingegaard's bike fetched only 20,000 euros. The team aims to use the funds raised to nurture the future generation of cycling.
