Remco Evenepoel is not the reigning European time-trial champion because he did not participate last year, but otherwise, he is the current champion of everything else he could in the time-trial discipline. Adding to his current Olympic and World titles, he is now also the Belgian ITT champion after having skipped last year's edition.
The Belgian is on extraordinary form and used this race to further prepare for the Tour de France. Recently, he already beat Jonas VIngegaard and Tadej Pogacar against the clock at the Criterium du Dauphiné and today he has dominated the course in Brasschaat. There was no-one even close to him when it comes to the time on the road, he beat UAE's
Florian Vermeersch by 1:11 minutes whilst
Alec Segaert - who was expected to be his main rival - finished third, 1:32 minutes back on Evenepoel.
