The Vuelta a España 2024 will present its official route and all its stages next Tuesday, December 19 in Madrid. The Spanish race, the third and final grand tour of the cycling season, will start on August 17 in Lisbon, Portugal and will conclude at the Cibeles finish line in Madrid on September 8.
With the routes of the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France already presented, it is the turn of the Vuelta a España. On December 19, at an event to be held at the Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel, the 79th edition of the race will announce its route and stages.
The start date of the 2024 Vuelta a España will be August 17 in Lisbon, with three stages to be held in Portugal. From Portuguese lands the peloton will visit the north of the Iberian Peninsula, with stages through Asturias including the mythical climb to the Lagos de Covadonga, as has already been leaked in media.
Unlike the 2023 edition, won by the American Sepp Kuss with a historic triplet on the podium with riders from the same team, Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard, La Vuelta 2024 will not be influenced by term collision with the World Championships, but instead will be impacted by the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
