Sepp Kuss continues one more day as the leader of the Vuelta a España. The American Jumbo-Visma rider once again had his two teammates,
Primoz Roglic and
Jonas Vingegaard, as his only rivals, but they have taken time on.
The 3 teammates were left alone on the final straight of the Angliru after an attack by Primoz Roglic that left Mikel Landa stranded. The Slovenian continued to maintain a very high pace at the front that at a certain point only Vingegaard could hold. Thus, Kuss held on behind and did not lose too much thanks to a Mikel Landa who rode a tremendous climb and was the closest competition. He holds the lead by just 8 seconds.
Enric Mas and Juan Ayuso, who seemed to have more options to fight for a possible podium, lost time in the Angliru and are further away from that possibility. Cian Uijtdebroeks, who is proving to be a great rider, gained positions in the top 10. Aleksandr Vlasov, Joao Almeida and a solid Santiago Buitrago close the top 10. Marc Soler went down.
