Iván Sosa has taken his first win with
Movistar Team, just in time for the Giro d'Italia where he will be aiming for the general classification. The Colombian rider won the queen stage of the
Vuelta a Asturias and took over the race lead.
Sosa made his move on the Alto El Acebo, dropping his rivals including Simon Yates who cracked in the climb and could not match the pace of the Colombian. Sosa made the difference in the climb, and kept it all the way to the line in Cangas del Narcea to hold off
Lorenzo Fortunato who finished the day in second place.
Igor Arrieta finished in third place.
