VIDEO: Remco Evenepoel dropped with 7km to go on final climb of stage 7 at Criterium du Dauphine 2024

Remco Evenepoel is seeing any hopes of a podium finish at the 2024 Criterium du Dauphine fall away on the final climb of stage 7. With 7km still to go, the Belgian has already been dropped.

Although the Soudal - Quick-Step leader was admittedly not riding for the general classification in his first race back from injury, a few days spent in the Maillot Jaune and stunning stage win in the individual time-trial gave some Evenepoel fans hope of a perfect pre-Tour de France victory. After his time loss on stage 6 though, as Primoz Roglic took the Maillot Jaune, Evenepoel looks set for a much bigger gap on stage 7.
