Protestors have been a repeat story during the 2025
Vuelta a Espana, sometimes at the risk and danger of the riders themselves. On stage 20, another such incident has occurred and this time, although serious injury seems to have been avoided, things could have been a lot worse.
Into the closing 20km, the battle at the front was taking a clearer shape:
Egan Bernal,
Giulio Ciccone and
Mikel Landa pressing on from the early breakaway, holding just over a minute on the red jersey group. Just as things started to get exciting, however, protesters struck a telling blow yet again on the 2025 Vuelta a Espana, with them attempting to offer up a complete blockade on the peloton, running in front of riders to try and block them at the risk of their own safety as much as the riders, and refusing to allow access to team cars.
