Stage 17 of the 2025 Tour de France had a dramatic finish as Jonathan Milan sprinted to the win in a crash marred and wet finale on Wednesday. Had it not been for the quick actions of the police at the finish line however, things could have been a whole lot more dangerous.
In the finish town of Valence, only around one minute before the the likes of Milan and Co were due to come hurtling through the finish line, French police tackled a man who had leapt over the barriers, bike in hand and attempted to ride the final hundred metres.
Due to the proximity to the finish, several photographers were on site and managed to capture the moments where the man, in a Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team jersey, managed to first evade the grasp of one policeman, before he was then tackled to the ground hard as he crossed the line, seemingly left in some considerable pain as he was arrested on the spot.
Since the news broke, multiple videos and angles of the incident have now emerged online, including most notably, one from the perpetrator himself. See the crazy scenes for yourself in the videos attached down below!
