VIDEO: Geraint Thomas scuffed up after early crash on stage 7 of the Vuelta a Espana

Very rarely does Geraint Thomas go a three-week Grand Tour without hitting the deck but even by his standards it's been an unlucky start to the 2023 Vuelta a Espana for the Welshman.

The INEOS Grenadiers leader was one of three of his team's riders that were involved in a crash before the cameras had even begun to roll on the day. Once TV coverage had started however, the director was quick to show Thomas, scuffed up and with what seemed like a piece of corn hanging out from a hole in his shorts perhaps indicating he'd been into a field.
