After his win in the opening time trial at the 2025
Giro d'Italia,
Joshua Tarling is the big, pre-stage favourite for stage 10. The Welshman has started blisteringly fast too, although he has just narrowly avoided a potential disaster crash.
Tarling, who hit the first intermediate time check 17 seconds quicker than anyone else through there to that point was absolutely flying through the course, picking up rider after rider as he sped past. Whilst those being caught from behind are supposed to pull to the side of the road to allow an easy passage for the quicker rider however, this point seemed lost on
EF Education-EasyPost's Mikkel Honore, as the Dane very nearly brought the
INEOS Grenadiers star's efforts against the clock to a screeching halt. Thankfully, Tarling was aware enough to slow up in time. The Welshman will now be hoping that didn't slow him down too much in the grand scheme of things.
