Victor Campenaerts ready to make his comeback at Critérium du Dauphiné

Victor Campenaerts didn't race since his crash at Bredene Koksijde Classic back in March, but the Lotto Dstny rider seems to be ready to make his comeback into the big league at Critérium du Dauphiné at June 4.

Campenaerts, in immense pain, was promptly taken to hospital following his Bredene Koksijde Classic crash, where he was revealed to have suffered fractured vertebrae. As a consequence, the Belgian missed all remaining spring classics.

The 31-year-old rider then started a long rehabilitation, but is now almost ready to race again. “Victor is on altitude training (in United States, ed.) and is ready to get back into competition. He will return to racing at Critérium du Dauphiné," sports director Kurt Van de Wouwer told Sporza.
