Tadej Pogacar put down yet another epic display earlier this month, bouncing back up from a dramatic crash to take victory a stunning solo win at Strade Bianche. One of the key elements in Pogacar's win was his helmet, which protected him during that crash. If you want to get your hands on a unique piece of cycling memorabilia, the world champ is now auctioning off that very helmet to raise money for charity.
"This is the helmet you can win by donating to tadejpogacar.org this time for Matic," announces the UAE Team Emirates - XRG leader in a post to his official Instagram account, revealing that alongside his race-winning helmet, you can also get your hands on a signed picture. "Thank you everyone that already donate and please share to your stories."
Pogacar has long been known as one to support philanthropic ventures and this case is no different. With the auctioning off of his helmet and a signed photo, Pogacar hopes to raise money for a child in need. "Matic, an 8-year-old warrior, is bravely fighting Duchenne muscular dystrophy (described by the National Institutes of Health as: 'one of the most severe forms of inherited muscular dystrophies'). A ground-breaking gene therapy in the US could change his future—but we need to raise the final €500,000 to make it happen!" Pogacar explains. "The Viljem Julijan Foundation has already raised 75% of the needed funds, and now it’s time for the final push! The Tadej Pogačar Foundation will donate everything raised from this prize draw, along with a portion of already collected funds."
A more than worthy cause no doubt, as Pogacar shows his class both on and off the bike. If you would like to donate money yourself, and enter the prize draw for the items on offer, follow the attached link here!
