UCI Rankings Teams Update | Astana within 1000 points of Picnic PostNL, overtake is imminent

The fight for promotion/relegation grows harder and harder. The gap between the teams that hug the red line is as small as it could be, and as soon as in the space of the next few weeks, we will certainly see Team Picnic PostNL get pushed into ProTeam level zone. UAE Team Emiratea and Lidl-Trek in the meantime were the top scoring teams out of the Ardennes week and remain rather solid as the top scoring teams out of the year.

You can check the previous update. Towards the bottom where it's interesting, it's gotten even more interesting. Team Picnic PostNL have defended themselves solidly with over 200 points scored in the week, but Simone Velasco's impressive fourth place at Liège-Bastogne-Liege helped the team gather over 550 in the space of seven days. The gap is now less than 1000 points, and the Dutch team may be overtaken soon. Uno-X Mobility now remain around 700 points behind Astana, and have to battle on and improve significantly so as to have a chance.
