UCI Rankings Riders Update | Vingegaard and Van der Poel surge while Del Toro's reign might be short-lived

Filippo Ganna beats Wout van Aert at Dwars door Vlaanderen 2026
The UCI WorldTour Ranking keeps shifting. This week delivered top-tier racing: the Volta a Catalunya, Tour of Bruges, In Flanders Fields, E3 Saxo Classic, and most recently, Dwars door Vlaanderen won by Filippo Ganna. As of today (April 2) that reshuffles a table still led by Isaac del Toro, ahead of Tobias Lund Andresen, Tom Pidcock, and a Tadej Pogacar who returns to action at the Tour of Flanders this Sunday. Jonas Vingegaard is also on a rise after a delightful stint in Spain.
As noted, the Mexican champion remains on top. Del Toro holds the UCI Ranking lead with 1,839 points. He has not raced since Milano-Sanremo, but on Monday he starts Itzulia 2026, where, alongside Juan Ayuso and Paul Seixas, he is a favourite for the overall victory and multiple stages. That should keep him, if not 1st, comfortably inside the top two.
Tobias Lund Andresen is another key mover. The Decathlon CMA CGM star is flying, despite his DNF at Dwars door Vlaanderen. The Dane was 2nd at In Flanders Fields and 6th at the E3 Saxo Classic, banking an extra 540 more UCI points to jump from 6th to 2nd in the standings.
Tom Pidcock sits in third place. The Briton's heavy crash at Volta a Catalunya could start a free fall through the rankings as his rivals are certain to take advantage of his lengthy absence.

Pogacar looks to reclaim his throne

One of those very like to pass Pidcock in the coming weeks and days is current number 4 - Tadej Pogacar. The Slovenian has so far added only two racedays to his 2026 account, with an astounding efficiency of 650 UCI points per raceday. Were he to continue in this fashion, he can leapfrog into the rankings' lead on Sunday.

Before we move on to the rest of the top 10, Ganna’s win at Dwars door Vlaanderen deserves a mention. The Italian denied Wout van Aert a landmark victory to claim 400 UCI points in one hit, enough to move into the top-40 of the ranking in a single swoop.
Back to the sharp end, Mauro Schmid won the GC at Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali 2026, and his slide is therefore rather minimal. He drops from 4th to 5th, successfully defending his position ahead of Jonas Vingegaard, who climbs 12 spots (18th to 6th) thanks to his overall victory at the Volta a Catalunya 2026, including two stage wins.

Alpecin shoots up the rankings

Mathieu van der Poel is also on the up. The Alpecin-Premier Tech leader jumps from 13th to 8th after winning the E3 Saxo Classic and banking 400 points. Now on 1,140, he looks to keep rising with a Tour of Flanders he wants to win.

Ahead of Van der Poel sits his teammate, Jasper Philipsen. The Belgian also vaults the order (25th to 7th) after winning Dwars door Vlaanderen, taking 2nd at the Tour de Bruges, and 8th at A Través de Flandes.
The top 10 is rounded out by Tour of Bruges winner Dylan Groenewegen, 9th, and Lenny Martínez, runner-up at the Volta a Catalunya.
