UCI Rankings Rider Update | Liège-Bastogne-Liège sees Tadej Pogacar solidify lead; Mathieu van der Poel into sixth place

Liège-Bastogne-Liège concluded the week of racing in the Ardennes and by the end of it, we came out with an updated UCI ranking that features Tadej Pogacar at the top, increasing his lead due to his recent triumph, over the injured Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel.

With the points from the Giro d'Italia disappearing from Roglic's tally next month, and with Pogacar racing it as the main contender for victory, the UAE Team Emirates rider is expected to make an even bigger jump into the lead. Jonas Vingegaard may not race the Criterium du Dauphiné and the Tour de France is at risk, so by no means is there a clear path to removing Pogacar from the lead.

With the Giro coming Pogi will increase the lead even higher. He will stay at the top for a few years with Vingegaard out

It seems they picked the wrong list, but is corrected now. Probably thanks to the positive comments below the topic.😂

We're such a bunch of cycling nerds/MVDP fanboys :) . Thanks for updating!

No, I'm a Pogacar fanboy :-)

Wow, you’re perspicacious, as if anyone other than a cycling nerd would find or stay on such a website.

Here is the correct UCI rankings, where Pogacar still leads with 6558 points, please fix your article. https://www.uci.org/discipline/road/6TBjsDD8902tud440iv1Cu?tab=rankings

It's funny that Remco is 3rd in this UCI ranking. Despite lacking big, meaningful results with Quickstep. I don't know why, it's definitely not actual rankings. Glad they fixed it. Surprised MVDP is well down in 6th, well behind Remco, who is 3rd, despite having better results overall than Remco. Strange ranking system.

Mistermaumau 04 June 2024 at 12:54+ 3474

It’s weird and maybe not the classic UCI ranking but there is a rolling 12 months ranking that this site/guy is always updating, UCI/PCS I don’t really know. MvdP gains 800 but at the same time loses the points from the same race (actually a couple because the last update was at least 3-4 of his races ago) last year which is one of the 2 reasons why he goes backwards. Reason 1; no matter how good his results this year, last years’ were even better Reason 2; other riders in his ranking surroundings are riding more or better than last year so are moving ahead of him. You can win 3 monuments and still not overtake someone riding all year with quite average results.

vappaxbipmv 04 June 2024 at 12:54+ 846

I don't know what this is but it's definitely not UCI ranking

bigmangofast 04 June 2024 at 12:54+ 8

I don't understand why Van der Poel is on less than 1600 points. It's 800 UCI points for a monument victory. He's won 2 and come 3rd at another so should be on at least 2000.

vappaxbipmv 04 June 2024 at 12:54+ 846

It's clearly not UCI ranking, they f*ed up something

Probadly not a UCI?

bigmangofast 04 June 2024 at 12:54+ 8

It's the daily PCS ranking that has gone wrong: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rankings/me/uci-individual-daily
