UCI makes exception for mid-season transfers as Zaaf Cycling Team crisis deepens

Reports of the Zaaf women's team's inability to pay their riders and staff have made headlines in recent weeks. Following an investigation by UCI, team members are now permitted to transfer to other teams without delay.

Audrey Cordon-Ragot left the team earlier this month and joined Human Powered Health for Paris-Roubaix. While it is typically not allowed for riders to switch teams until the mid-season transfer window on June 1, the UCI has made an exception in this situation.

"The UCI shall consider requests for authorisation to register with a new team before the next registration period in case a rider had manifest and compelling reasons for terminating their contractual relationship with their previous team,” UCI told Cyclingnews.
