It has been recently rumoured that
INEOS Grenadiers might have a visual change ahead of the Giro d'Italia and that might be coming in the form of a new sponsor that has been announced this Friday morning. The British team has announced its partnership with WTW, with a deal that will be lasting for three years.
“Our partnership with WTW brings together two organizations with a shared approach to performance - focused on preparation, resilience and the ability to navigate complexity," team manager Dave Brailsford said in a
press release.
Only days ago,
Daniel Benson and
Ciro Scognamiglio have reported that the team was undergoing visual changes ahead of the Giro d'Italia - possibly for a one-off equipment - and that this would likely be a dark green jersey, with the team currently rebranding its bus and trucks. Hence, the timing of this announcement could match perfectly with the ongoing changes.
WTW is a 'leading global advisory, broking and solutions company' which makes its way into the cycling world through the British teams, with the shared goal of improving the team's ability to manage the complex project which includes around a hundred riders and staff members, multiple moving parts and a year-round ever-changing project.
WTW CEO Carl Hess added: “We are excited to announce this global partnership between WTW and INEOS Grenadiers, marking our strategic entry into sports sponsorship at the company level. Professional cycling was a deliberate choice. It’s defined by risk, preparation and long-term outcomes, closely aligned with the challenges our clients face and the expertise WTW brings to managing complexity and sustaining performance.”
In the summer the team is likely to bring in Netcompany as a new title sponsor, which from 2027 onwards, will link up with TotalEnergis to re-name the British team, which has since 2019 been sponsored by the petrochemical giant.
“Success at the highest level of cycling depends on managing risk effectively and making smart decisions in fast-moving, often demanding situations. WTW’s global expertise in these areas makes them a strong partner as we continue to develop and strengthen the team. This partnership is built on a shared ambition to compete at the very top, alongside a mutual commitment to long-term performance".
