Chloé Dygert's current contract with Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto is going to run out at the end of this year. Naturally, you'd expect plenty of interest in the services of the two-time world time trial champion... but that's not happening. In 2026, Dygert has only 6 race days to her name - half of them DNFs - and more are not expected to come in foreseeable future.
The 29-year-old American was dealing with prolonged health issues in recent months which were finally explained in her Instagram story: "Recent bloods showing major hormonal deficiencies along with elevated cortisol levels — explaining the fatigue and many health related symptoms I’ve been experiencing." Combined with injuries sustained at the 2026 Paris-Roubaix, the conclusion is simple - Dygert needed some time off.
And how does all of this come along with Dygert's future in the cycling world? The American rider is no longer as thrilled about racing around the world, and instead seems to be looking for a way to conclude her cycling story on her own terms. Ideally at home Los Angelesv 2028 Olympic Games.
For that reason, cycling journalist Daniel Benson reports that Dygert has found a home for seasons 2027-2028 in American continental formation Virginia's Blue Ridge - TWENTY28, the same outfit she represented before her professional debut between 2016 and 2019. Dygert reportedly wants to focus entirely on track cycling in the coming years, aiming to grow her collection of four Team Pursuit world titles and one Olympic gold medal (2024).
