Tour of Flanders top priority for Julian Alaphilippe next season - "I dream of performing there"

Two-time world champion Julian Alaphilippe hopes to be back to 100% as he reveals his plans for the top podium spot at next year’s Tour of Flanders.

It wasn't one of his best seasons. The number of victories he secured was half that of 2021. "I’m just looking forward to restarting the new season. You know, was a tough year, and I hope I can have not more luck, but maybe less bad luck,” expressed the Frenchman.

Tour de Flanders is going to be one of his main goals next season. "I will be super focused to try to have my level on top. I keep in my head that I can be 100% for the Tour of Flanders. It can suit me well, and I dream of performing there. This is my big goal for the first part of the season next year,” shared Alaphilippe.

Alaphilippe also shared his experience of this season’s Vuelta a Espana and how he turned super domestique for his teammate Remco Evenepoel. “To fight for the red jersey with Remco, to try to help him every day, it was really something that I will never forget. Of course, I was really, really disappointed to leave the guys on the road and watch the race on the TV for the last ten stages,” concluded Alaphilippe.
