Tom Dumoulin has a new task in cycling. From now on, the Dutchman will join the bicycle brand Giant as an ambassador, the manufacturer announced on Wednesday. Dumoulin will be present at cycling, mountain biking and gravel events on behalf of Giant.
"Tom Dumoulin still has a future on the bike," says the Limburger himself with a big smile. "I have a very special relationship with Giant. During the best years of my career, Giant supported me, I got very good results. So it goes without saying that I am very happy that I can now be an ambassador for the brand." For example, Dumoulin won the 2017 Giro and the World Time Trial World Championships that year on a Giant bike.
As ambassador of Giant, Dumoulin will therefore compete in several cycling events, both on the road, gravel and mountain bike. "We are very happy that Tom is entering into this partnership with us. He has reached the ceiling of cycling and has always pushed us competitively. We are sure he will be an inspiration to people all over the world," said Phoebe Liu of Giant.
There is no known 'competition programme' yet for Dumoulin, who is currently also working on a biography.
