Thomas Gloag has won the fourth stage of the Tour de l'Avenir. He beat Adam Holm Jørgensen and Michel Hessmann in the final sprint to secure the stage win.
The breakaway included Rafael Pereira Marques (Luxembourg), Maximilian Schmidbauer (Austria), and Thomas Schellenberg (Canada). The group created a gap of 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Halfway through the race, some riders counterattacked the leading group, they soon caught up with the breakaway. Jordan Labrosse was involved in a crash 40 kilometers before the finish line, which cost him his leader’s jersey.
The breakaway split into two groups, Adam Holm Jorgensen, Michel Hessmann and Gloag were part of the leading group. In the end, Gloag was the fastest to cross the finish line. The Jorgensen came second, and Hessmann took the bronze. Gloag is also the new overall leader.
