Thibau Nys has gone back-to-back at the Tour de Hongrie with his second straight stage win on stage 4, holding off a late charge from Marc Hirschi to take a punchy win from a reduced bunch.
Seven riders got themselves into the day's breakaway, including notable names such as INEOS Grenadiers' Salvatore Puccio, Bahrain - Victorious' Dusan Rajovic, Astana Qazaqstan Team's Cees Bol and Matteo Moschetti of the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
Heading into the final 15km, the break's advantage has slipped to just 45 seconds. With 5km to go, the catch looked imminent with just 13 seconds separating the leaders and the peloton and that's how things proved too, as with 2km to go, the catch was complete.
With a punchy, uphill finish, plenty of different rider types were fancying their chances. Thibau Nys opened things up. Marc Hirschi tried hard to get the Lidl-Trek talent back but there was no let from Nys, who secured his second stage win in as many days.
