Søren Wærenskjold has won stage 2 of the 2024 AlUla Tour in Saudi Arabia after an uphill fight to the line.
After the day's five-man breakaway was reeled in with 34km to go, a full peloton took on the battle up the slopes to the Sharaan Nature Reserve. Included in the group, despite a double puncture was Movistar Team leader Davide Formolo.
In the slight uphill to the line, many of the big threats tested their legs including Rafal Majka, Finn Fisher-Black, Pierre Latour and Simon Yates. In the end though, it was Uno-X Mobility's Søren Wærenskjold who took victory
