Unfortunately, Ane Santesteban will be out of the elite women's road race at the Glasgow World Championships this Sunday. The Team Jayco-AlUla rider herself has confirmed it on her personal Instagram account.
It is a very sensitive loss for the team's aspirations in Glasgow, as she had been showing incredible form, finishing eighth in the recent Women's Tour de France. A flu that has kept her with fever for several days has been the cause of the abandonment of the 32-year-old Basque runner.
