Jumbo-Visma have announced today the departure of their second rider from the Vuelta a Espana, as Edoardo Affini has fallen ill and will not start stage 10 which would be a suiting time-trial to the Italian.
The news come after the day before, Sepp Kuss was also forced to abandon, with the team naming a fever as the reason. With several Covid-19 cases within the Vuelta, riders have been abandoning the race everyday due to illness. Affini has been a very important support rider for Primoz Roglic on the flat stages, and he himself had the opportunity to lead the race into it's first day in Spain.
