Roger Adrià won the GP de Wallonie 2024, the second professional victory of his career and the first since stage 2 of the Tour de Occitanie more than two years ago. It is also his first win with his new team, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. The 26-year-old won ahead of Alex Aranburu in the final sprint of a reduced group.
"I felt very good all day, very strong. The team supported me really well and trusted me. They were really committed to helping me get the win here. The trust they put in me gave me extra confidence. In the sprint, I had really good legs and was in a good position on the finishing straight. I'm very happy to have been able to finish and take the victory," said the Catalan after crossing the finish line.
Adrià will now participate in two more Belgian classics to prepare for the World Championships in Zurich, where he will be one of the man in the selection of Spain. Adrià will be accompanied by Pello Bilbao, Carlos Rodríguez, Juan Ayuso, Mikel Landa, Enric Mas, Alex Aranburu and Pablo Castrillo, who earned his place thanks to a stellar Vuelta a España.
