After
Richard Carapaz's beautiful move for the victory, the race and the race organization were in evidence by all the people crossing the road to take pictures with the riders as they continued to compete. Images were even shared on X -formerly Twitter-, of the Colombian Police recording the race instead of controlling it.
But the controversy was not going to tarnish a final stage of the
Tour Colombia that was proving to be very exciting.
Rodrigo Contreras, who has been at a spectacular level since the beginning of the race, managed to firmly defend the attacks of Carapaz, to finally take a spectacular victory in the general classification.
Richard Carapaz, for his part, also finished second on the podium of the last stage, behind the day's winner,
Jhonatan Restrepo.
