Results CRO Race 2026 Stage 2 - Carl-Frederik Bévort springs sprint surprise as Paul Magnier misses out for second day in a row

Carl-Frederik Bévort claimed a surprise victory on Stage 2 of the 2026 CRO Race, emerging from Uno-X Mobility’s sprint setup to beat Nicolas Gojković and race leader Juan Sebastian Molano in Novalja.
The Danish rider took his first victory of the season after a frantic finale in which several late attacks briefly threatened the expected bunch sprint. Molano finished third for UAE Team Emirates - XRG after winning Tuesday’s opener, while Paul Magnier was nowhere in the top 10 despite Soudal - Quick-Step taking control deep into the run-in.
Szymon Wiśniewski and Jakob Šlibar had formed the main breakaway on the 114.5-kilometre stage from Biograd na Moru. Wiśniewski collected the intermediate sprint in Zadar and the first classified climb at Jovići before Šlibar was caught after the second intermediate sprint in Pag.
The peloton was back together before the decisive closing phase, but the racing became increasingly aggressive. Mihael Štajnar, Matteo Turconi, Axel van der Tuuk and Johannes Kulset were among those trying moves as Soudal and Uno-X moved to the front.
Soudal entered the final 11 kilometres with six riders controlling the peloton and Magnier was still positioned on the wheel of Dries Van Gestel inside the final kilometre.
Uno-X nevertheless took over the finale. Erlend Blikra launched the sprint with around 200 metres remaining, but it was teammate Bévort who powered through to take the victory.
Gojković delivered an eye-catching second place for Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, with Molano third ahead of Lorenzo De Longhi and Davide Donati. Brody McDonald, Gabriele Bessega and Radosław Frątczak completed the top 10.
