After announcing his intentions to go for the pink jersey in 2023, Remco Evenepoel has already been doing reconnaissance of the Giro d'Italia course in preparation.
Looking to add a 2nd Grand Tour victory to his palmares after his 2022 Vuelta a Espana success, Evenepoel has been spotted riding the route of the two time trials being featured at this years Giro on his Strava account. On Friday the 2nd of December, Evenepoel rode the time trial from Fossacesia Marina to Ortona and on December 3rd he focused on the roads of the time trial which will close the first week of the Giro.
Aside from the time trials, the reigning Vuelta champion has been checking out a few other stages including Stage 6 Naples-Naples, Stage 7 Capua-Campo Imperatore and the stage 8 finish in Fossombrone. Evenepoel will be hoping by the time the Giro starts on May 6th he'll know every twist and turn like the back of his hand and use that to win the pink jersey.
