Profile. On the 19th of March the women's peloton take on one of it's most prestigious and important races. A women-specific race, the
Trofeo Alfredo Binda is one of the highlights of the spring, and provides an opportunity for many riders to succeed.
The 139-kilometer long race takes place in the north of Italy in the Lombardia region. It's main feature is the final circuit around Cittiglio. There, the riders have two small ascents: 800 meters at 7% and 2.6Km at 5%, ending with 15 and 8 kilometers respectively. It is however frequently a tactical race, as the final kilometers then have a slight downhill aspect almost all the way into the finish.
