And in his latest update about the situation, Paul Seixas gave an honest insight into his future and where he is in the process of making a decision. In short: no decision has been made, and he will not be rushing into making a move after previously racing for contracts at underage and junior level.

Paul Seixas on his contract situation
"So, for the moment, I haven't made a decision because until now, all my young career, let's say, I've spent my time running after contracts," Seixas
said on RMC."They always told me, as soon as you do a performance, you have to sign, you have to sign, you have to sign. So I said, when I signed this contract, so now two years ago, I said, I promise that on this contract, I won't rush to sign because it annoys me.
For now, Seixas is taking his time and assessing his options - noting that he knows a deadline for a decision is approaching during the off-season. He did not confirm if any other teams have tabled an offer.
"So now I'm taking my time and I'm saying to myself, I'm on vacation, I'm not thinking about it too much. Even though I'm going to have to make a decision soon, but for now, it's not made.
"I don't know exactly when I'm going to make it. I think there's a moment when I'm going to have a feeling and I'm going to say to myself, well, that's the right decision. After that, I think that not making the decision until now is a good thing."
Seixas on Decathlon
Time is of the essence for Seixas, who knows how quickly things can change in a year. Pointing to his own team, he sees a huge positive difference in Decathlon over the past twelve months as the evolution of the project takes shape.
He added: "Because when you look at the evolution of the team Decathlon-CMA-CGM today, well, a year ago, we weren't talking about the same team. And today, we already have a better overview of what it's becoming."
Seixas took eight victories during the 2026 season, including his Il Lombardia triumph, Fleche Wallone and the overall at Itzulia Basque Country in one of cycling's great breakout years.
At Decathlon, the team have bolstered their climbing support for the 20-year-old in 2027, adding Ben O'Connor, Pogacar's former domestique Pavel Sivakov and Laurens de Plus as reinforcements.
