It was a magical weekend for Paul Magnier who, after winning Dwars door het Hageland, has now won in a pure bunch sprint the Elfstedenronde Brugge by beating none other than Jasper Philipsen on the eve of the Tour de France.
It was a brilliant set of races for the Soudal - Quick-Step rider who continues to show evolution both as a sprinter and classics rider, and provides hope for the Belgian team to be able to have a new classics star in the making.
Today's race was decided in a bunch sprint and, after a disappointing Giro d'Italia, the Frenchman showed his pure power by beating Jasper Philipsen to the line, whilst Elia Viviani finished third in the day in a comeback to top positions in the big races.
