The professional career of the experienced former US national champion Larry Warbasse will continue after all. The 34-year-old recently admitted he was unsure of his future but has now been granted a lifeline by the Swiss-based Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
"It’s a great project and a team that is progressing quickly, something I and many others have taken note of over the past couple of years. When the team reached out to me, I didn’t hesitate and I couldn’t think of anywhere I would rather be moving forward in my career," says the American in an official press release by his new employers. "Next season will be my 13th as a professional and I’m looking forward to both helping our leaders perform at their best in the biggest races as well as helping to guide the younger riders in the team to reach their full potential. It’s a motivated and forward thinking team with top level partners, from Tudor, to BMC, as well as many others, and I can’t wait to get started!”
Having raced for 12 seasons in the professional peloton, Warbasse has 11 Grand Tour appearances on his palmares and has signed a one-year deal with the team run by Fabian Cancellara. Other than his aforementioned US national championship victory from back in 2017, the sole other victory on his palmares came in the form of a stage at the 2017 Tour de Suisse but will provide Tudor with some very reliable climbing support in the mountains in 2025.
The former Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team rider also completes the Tudor Pro Cycling Team lineup for 2025, joining the likes of Julian Alaphilippe, Marco Haller, Marc Hirschi and Fabian Lienhard, plus the promotion of younger talents Fabian Weiss and Aivaras Mikutis from the development team as new additions to their 30 man roster for the upcoming campaign.
