Richard Carapaz is currently riding the
Giro d'Italia, and on the first rest day of the race he's received a new bike that he will be riding through the mountains as he looks to conquer a second triumph.
Ever since becoming the Olympic champion last summer in Tokyo, Carapaz has been a standout figure in the peloton as he bears the golden colours on several pieces of equipment. Perhaps most noticeable, the golden scheme on his Pinarello bike has been quite a shocking visual, but that will not be a sight to behold throughout the mountainous stages that lie ahead.
INEOS Grenadiers have shared on social media pictures of the Ecuadorian's new bike, a Pinarello DOGMA F with several details in golden colour, but the more familiar black pain scheme - of the team colours - is back.
Tomorrow at Mount Etna, Carapaz is expected to be at the front as the GC riders go head to head on the first mountainous summit finish of the race.
