The 20th stage of the Vuelta a Espana was the final day in the mountains, and the GC fight opened up with several attacks throughout the day, but almost no gaps existing at the end as Remco Evenepoel virtually sealed the overall win. Richard Carapaz took the stage win, his third in the race after joining the day's breakaway.
The day didn't feature any rider in the race's medical report.
As for fines however, one was given to the following:
AG2R Citroën Team DS Cyril Dessel: Violation of the directives concerning the circulation of vehicles in the race. 1000CHF fine.
