Max van der Meulen will spend a year at CT Friuli before joining Bahrain Victorious in 2025

A striking transfer in the cycling world: the talented Dutchman Max van der Meulen will become a professional with Bahrain Victorious in 2025. In 2024 he will race for the training team, Cycling Team Friuli. Van der Meulen currently rides for the DSM-Firmenich development team where he was under contract through 2024 initially.

"Firstly, I would like to thank Team DSM-Firmenich for the development they have given me so far in my career," Van der Meulen is grateful to his current team. "I am very happy that I have the opportunity to develop myself within Bahrain Victorious in the coming years."

"I look forward to next year at Cycling Team Friuli, where I will take my final steps in my development before realizing a lifelong dream: becoming a professional cyclist for Bahrain Victorious," Van der Meulen said in a press release.

The 19-year-old Dutchman is known as a great talent for stage races. Last year, as a junior, he won several stage races. He also showed a lot of potential as a climber by winning the La Classique des Alpes Juniors with a large margin. Van der Meulen is also not averse to cobblestones. This season he finished sixth in the promising edition of Paris-Roubaix. Another striking result is a fifteenth place among the pros in the rainy Volta Limburg Classic.
