Matej Mohoric wins the CRO Race as Elia Viviani secures the final stage

Elia Viviani has secured the sixth and final stage of the CRO Race. He defeated Matej Mohoric in a thrilling sprint to take the stage win. It's his second victory this season.

The breakaway consisted of Timo Roosen, Alex Catadord, Danny van der Tuuk, Alex Martin and Jacopo Mosca. The group of five worked together to increase the gap to more than 2 minutes. At one point, the gap came down to 40 seconds, but they were able to take back control, and the gap once again was over a minute.

Bahrain Victorious was leading the peloton with their leader Matej Mohoric. The breakaway was finally caught in the final 10 kilometres. Mohoric had the support of his teammates in the final kilometres, and he used it very efficiently to defend the lead, but Elia Viviani sneaked behind him in the end and took the stage victory. Mohoric finished second, while Vincenzo Albanese took the bronze. Matej Mohoric is the overall winner of the tour.
