Martijn Tusveld has become the 26th different rider forced to abandon this year's
Giro d'Italia. A crash on stage 2 that Tusveld hasn't fully recovered from has ultimately taken its tole.
"After his crash earlier in the race,
Martijn Tusveld has abandoned the
Giro d'Italia," an official announcement made by the
Team DSM Twitter account has revealed. "Finally succumbing to the injuries he sustained on stage 2. We hope to see you back soon, Martijn!"
