Mark Cavendish to lead Quick-Step Alpha Viny in Gran Piemonte

Quick-Step Alpha Viny has revealed its team for Gran Piemonte. Mark Cavendish will once again return to the peloton for the Italian one-day race.

The Former Tour de France champion will lead the team of seven riders, including Davide Ballerini, who recently scored the victory in the Coppa Bernocchi. The race features few hills, and the team has chosen James Knox and Pieter Serry to combat the climbs. Tim Declercq and Michael Morkov will be the lead out for the final sprint.

“We go to the start of this race with a strong and motivated team, featuring Mark but also Davide, who showed his fine form in Bernocchi. A bunch sprint is very likely, and if this happens, Michael is the man for the lead-out, with the rest of the team capable of controlling the race prior to the finale. It’s our last race week of the season, and we hope to get another good result”, said sports director Davide Bramati.
