Marc Soler failed to conquer the twelfth stage of the Vuelta a Espana. The UAE Emirates rider secured bronze and finished 24 seconds behind stage winner Richard Carapaz.
While he was disappointed that he could not take the stage, he also conceded that Carapaz's performance was much better than his own. "I am disappointed that I could not win again, but Carapaz was simply too strong. But I am happy with my current form", said Soler.
However, he does not let one disappointment deter him from reaching his goals, he is an optimist who looks forward to racing in the next stage and helping his team in GC. "Our team is strong, and with João Almeida and Juan Ayuso, we have two riders who are still good in the general classification, so we are looking forward to the rest of this Vuelta", Soler concluded. He currently holds 33rd position in GC, 34 minutes and 32 seconds behind overall leader Remco Evenepoel.
