Groupama - FDJ have reinforced their ranks for 2024 with a familiar face. Marc Sarreau will return to the team after spending the last three seasons with AG2R Citroën Team.
“It was a difficult three years due to injuries and illnesses. But those problems are behind me now, and I want to focus fully on my new environment. The team has a lot of confidence in me, and I know the house well: this should bring me back to my best level," says the 30-year-old Frenchman following the announcement of his return.
“I want to develop into more of a lead-out," he says of his plans. "I now have nine years of experience in sprints, and I would prefer to return to the role where it all started for me. At the time I sprinted for Arnaud Démare, now I want to take on the role of big brother for young talents such as Paul Penhoët and Matthew Walls. This is what I was looking for.”
