Fabian Cancellara's Tudor Pro Cycling Team have been moving up the ranks of the cycling world in recent seasons. For next year, they have now secured two more of the biggest names in Swiss cycling, further bolstering their ranks.
Most notable, is the signing of the recent Clasica San Sebastian winner and former Swiss national champion Marc Hirschi from UAE Team Emirates. “As a Swiss rider, it feels special to join a Swiss team. I am 25 so it is time for me to endorse the role of a leader and see how far I can go," says Hirschi to his new employers official website. "Tudor Pro Cycling is giving me this opportunity and I hope to return the trust with some fine victories.”
Alongside Hirschi, the arrival of experienced Swiss Fabian Lienhard from Groupama - FDJ is also announced by the team. “Racing for a Swiss Team has always been my dream. Unfortunately, it never happened until now, so I am really happy it is becoming reality with Tudor Pro Cycling. I can’t wait to put my experience in Grand Tours and Classics to work and to support the young generation," says the 30-year-old. "I am also looking forward to working with a new coaching team and to being back on BMC bikes after spending a few months as a Stagiaire with the BMC Racing Team in 2016 and a season with the Holowesko - Citadel p/b Arapahoe Resources Team in 2018. Hopefully this move will give another boost to my career.”
“We are excited to add Marc and Fabian to the team roster,” says Raphael Meyer, CEO of the Team. “Both bring massive experience and will help us to perform better as a team. Marc will be a leader in one-day and one-week stage races while Fabian will be another solid addition to the Classics team, which will always be an important part of our team. He will also be a role model and a mentor to the youngsters. He is a solid rider with potential to still develop. These two additions make us very proud.”
For Cancellara, the arrival of Hirschi in particular is worth getting excited about. “Signing Marc feels like the next piece of the puzzle of our story," the legendary Swiss explains. "We have been supporting him for some time, we know him well and understand his needs. He is the right fit for the team and the values we stand for. We are convinced we can help him to achieve the highest level.”

- People see what they want to. I am actually the opposite of your accusation, probably more of a rebel than most of you who don’t get the big picture. The difference is, I don’t go moaning publicly about the consequences of my transgressions, I understand the need for rules and I take my OWN responsibility when deciding to ignore or break them or doing so involuntarily. I will also not hesitate to state my case or argue vehemently when relevant, sometimes it works, sometimes it makes things worse but that’s the price to pay for principles and having character.Jumpyjohn08-11-2026
- That may be but that was unknown to others and nothing says that’s the whole truth. Again, don’t try to misinterpret, it is a call and technically it is correct. Besides, even if there is a valid reason, that does not disqualify the ruling or punishment as far as the rules have been developed. I don’t think they’re as far as in football where for handball there is a distinction (in some ways and specific cases) between intentional or not. And football can be just as harsh and people live with it, eg the offside rule, also judged to within tiny fractions but often wrong or ignored. It’s the nature of every collective organisation and sometimes I wonder if our rebellion against it isn’t seated in the feelings we carry from the injustices we’ve felt personally, like being flashed driving 1km/h too fast when we are explained limits are just a security measure but we are absolutely certain not to have endangered anyone with our transgression. The problem is, nobody has better solutions and no 2 people have the same interpretation of where a limit should be.Jumpyjohn08-11-2026

I don’t know if you ride a bike but next time someone carves you up or drives dangerously close, just hold back from those feelings of changing something, reporting or filming or even complaining.
