The young Andreas Leknessund (Team DSM) is the new leader of the general classification of the Giro d'Italia after finishing second on the fourth stage.
The Norwegian attacked on the tougher ramps of Colle Molella but was unable to stop Frenchman Aurélien Paret-Peintre, who eventually took the stage. As a consolation for missing out on the stage win however, he stole the pink jersey from Remco Evenepoel.
"It's very special, I wanted the stage, I also knew that pink was possible, I had the strength to attack, I gave it my all there, but I couldn't leave. It's very special to wear pink. That was the goal before the stage, but as everyone knows cycling is not easy, achieving it is incredible."
